The LCMS Florida-Georgia District Veterans of the Cross Committee is thrilled to announce that The Rev. Dr. Dean Nadasdy, President Emeritus of the Minnesota South District, will serve as the keynote presenter for the annual Veterans of the Cross (VOC) 2027 Gathering. Dr. Nadasdy brings a wealth of pastoral depth, theological expertise, and national leadership to the 2027 gathering. He retired in 2018 after serving a six-year tenure as District President of the LCMS Minnesota South District.  Prior to his district presidency, he dedicated 35 years to local parish ministry, leading three notable LCMS congregations: Woodbury Lutheran Church in Woodbury, Minnesota (2000–2012) Cross View Lutheran Church in Edina, Minnesota (1981–1997) Grace Lutheran Church in Eugene, Oregon (1973–1981). His leadership extended to the national stage as well, where he served as a Vice President of the LCMS from 2004 to 2010. He also chaired major Mass Events and Worship Committees for multiple LCMS National Youth Gatherings. From 1997 to 2000, he held the Gregg H. Benidt Memorial Chair in Homiletics and Literature as an Associate Professor of Practical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. For more than two decades since, he has continued to shape future pastors as an adjunct instructor in the seminary’s Doctor of Ministry program. Even in retirement, Dr. Nadasdy remains active in global and local ministry. He currently chairs the Board of Directors for Feed My Starving Children, a prominent global hunger relief agency. He resides in Minnesota with his wife, Susie, a retired Lutheran middle and high school English and speech teacher. They are blessed with three children and five grandchildren.
