What does my registration payment cover?

The registration payment covers all housing, food, servant events, and programming while you are at the event. This also includes all the extra fun activities we are planning for the evening time. It’s a great deal!

Where is this event?

This is event is being held in Atlanta, Georgia. All participants will be housed at our sister congregation Faith Lutheran, Marietta, GA. We will be sleeping in their gym and able to use their onsite facilities of bathrooms, showers and the kitchen. They also have an outdoor fire pit and worship area we will be able to utilize in the evenings.

Who can come?

This event is for High School students who have completed their 9th-12th grade year by the time of the trip.

Adult leaders will play an important leadership role at this event. An adult leader must be at least 21 years of age and understand they are coming to minister to the teenagers at this event.

We require a specific ratio of 1 adult leader for every 7 students.

What will we be doing?

We will be working with local Homeless Ministries and Street Ministries in Atlanta. Seven Bridges to Recovery , is an organization that makes meals for people on the street and then drives around delivering these meals while talking and praying with the people. Our group will always be with a trained Seven Bridges professional and we will also receive specific training before we go out for the day. Some of the group will also be given the opportunity to work with the children that live at Seven Bridges to Recovery through VBS style events and activities during the day.

Out of your comfort zone?

Probably, street ministry is not something most of us are used to doing. However, stretching ourselves outside of our comfort zone with knowledgeable people and guides, provides a chance for relationship building and further spiritual growth!

Waiting List available

A waiting list will be available if the event fills up. More information will be made available in the event that this happens.

Take a look back at some of the pictures from the 2014 High School Servant event in 2014.

2014 High School Servant Event

The High School Servant Event for the Florida-Georgia District will be held on July 13-18, 2014 at Lutherock.  Located near Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Beech Mountain, a visit to Lutherock puts your group in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery, vast outdoor adventures opportunities, and unique shopping experiences in Western North Carolina.   The camp can hold approximately 150 participants (youth & leaders) so it will be a first come, first serve registration process. A waiting list will be available if the event fills up.

The cost per participant (excluding transportation and special recreational outings that groups would do on their own) is $215.  This fee includes 5 nights lodging and meals from Sunday evening dinner through Friday morning breakfast.   The camp will coordinate the Servant Event work sites.  Groups will need to provide their own transportation to the sites and any special equipment (shovels, rakes, hammers, etc.) as dictated by the work project. FYI,  the camp requires a ratio of 1 adult leader for every 8 students.

More information regarding specific work projects will be passed along as it becomes available, but we should have  a good idea of the size and scope of the projects closer to Easter.    Some will be in the local area, working with local organizations, others will be onsite. Work days will take place Monday through Thursday.

Housing Options Include:

8 Cabins with Bunk Beds and bathroom
Platform Tent Camping – a full canvas tent, each one sleeps 8-10 people, with bathrooms located nearby.

You will be asked for your preference regarding accommodations at a later date. But remember, tent camping in the mountains should be pleasant so please don’t let that scare you away from this option.  Average Highs in July are about 80 degrees and average low is about 60 degrees.  Much more comfortable than the Florida-Georgia summers!!

Lutherock is located at:

84 Camp Luther Road

Newland, NC 28657

See below to register your group.  We will be collecting specific information about each participant after your deposit payment has been received. You will be sent the complete form via email to complete and return.

Contact Lamar Stewart at or 706-733-6076 or me if you have questions!

A deposit of $50 per person is due within one week of registration and the last date to register is March 15, with final payment of $165 per participant due by June 15.   The $50 deposit is non-refundable after March 15th.  Please pay by credit card online or send a check made payable to the FLGA District at 5850 T G Lee Blvd., Suite 500, Orlando, FL  32822

The servant event in the Ocala Forest was an incredible event.
