This year, the High School Leadership Event will focus on the following goals:
Connect the District youth to facilitate experiences so lasting friendships form and create a support network among the youth as they encourage one another to live out their faith in Jesus
Build up the local church to train and equip the youth to go back to their congregations as active participants in the ministry of the local church.
Strengthen Faith for youth to be encouraged in their faith by participating in the weekend Leadership Event.
The HSLE is capped at 60 youth participants (30 freshmen/sophomores and 30 juniors/seniors). Freshmen and sophomores will undergo a Youth Lead Training experience, and juniors and seniors will undergo a vocational/calling experience.
This event is not a “Youth Gathering” format - below are some guidelines for selecting high school youth to attend.
Youth that should attend:
• Have leadership qualities
• Have a faith in Jesus and want to share that with others
• Respected by their peers
• Have a desire to learn more about the church at large and meet others from area churches
Youth that should not attend:
• New to your church/youth group
• Not willing to participate in meeting new people
• Struggle listening and participating in your youth group
• Want a fun event to go to and be entertained—this is not a youth gathering
Spiritual | Participants will spend time in:
God’s Word • seeking how God desires Christians to lead
Prayer • individual times of prayer and prayer with partners
Worship • joining the Middle School Youth Gathering in worship on Sunday
Relational | Participants will:
Develop friendships with other youth from around the Florida-Georgia District

The Youth Scholarship Fund awards a $50 scholarship to those who are attending an FLGA District-sponsored youth event. It intends to help youth who are not able to attend without financial assistance.
Please have a parent, pastor, or youth leader complete the form. A note of award will be sent directly to the adult who completed it, with a copy sent to the leader of the Youth Group.
